Most people have tried the approach of tough love. But it can only go so far. For many individuals experiencing hoarding/cluttering issues, shame, guilt, and self-criticism is one of the biggest challenges. This way of relating to oneself not only paralyzes us, it is also one of the root issues related to why people hoard in the first place. Learning to relate to our difficulties in a more compassionate way may be a key ingredient missing in your path of healing and changing.
Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) is a scientifically-supported program derived from Compassion Focused Therapy, developed by British Psychologist, Dr. Paul Gilbert. The kind of "compassion" we mean here is not about being nice and letting one off the hook. Instead, it is about training up our "emotional muscles", wisdom, strength and courage to face our difficulties head on. This is why this workshop would be a great resource for you if avoidance is one of the hurdles you experience in your journey of healing from hoarding. The workshop will offer frameworks and skills for us to work with ourselves in a wiser and more collaborative way. It also provides practices and exercises that support us to let go of old, stuck ways of relating to ourselves and our possessions.
This 6-week online workshop tailored for people experiencing hoarding or cluttering issues is led by an expert on Compassion Focused Therapy and specializing in hoarding. Registration is welcomed worldwide. Join us on this important journey with guidance from one of the most qualified hoarding specialists in the world and the company of people with similar experiences.
